Painting competition & love for mac's
Date: Early part of september 2010
Took Pranav to UB city in bangalore for his weekly dose of Subway sandwich. We walk into a Mac store in UB city. Pranav has been fascinated with my Mac book and always wanted one.
Pranav: Dad i have a painting competition in school and the first prize is 2 lac rupees.
Dad: Ok
Pranav: If i win the competition i will like to buy a i-Mac and a Mac book pro.
Dad: Why do you need 2 of them , its all the same , just get one.
Pranav: Dad it is not the same one is a Desktop and other is a laptop. I want both.
Dad: Hmm Ok
Pranav: After paying for them if i have any balance money , i will give it to you for your pocket money.
Dad: Hmm <son giving pocket money to dad , really a new concept>

I was on Facebook checking pics of a friend who just got married. The Album title said "Honeymoon Pics". my son was overlooking what i was doing
Pranav: Dad what is honeymoon?
Dad: It is the First vacation trip a newly married couple go to.
Pranav: OK..if they go for a trip before marriage what is that called ?
Dad: Nothing , its just another trip

Dad: Pranav we are all planning to go to Kenya in december.

Dad: we have 2 options , going through Egypt or going through Dubai. what do you prefer ?
Pranav: Going through egypt is shorter but expensive , going through dubai is longer but cheap

Dad: Pranav , i forgot to tell you , i started a blog about you.

Dad doesn't know Civil war ?

Dad: Hmm I don't know

Pranav: Now i get it .. what you mean to say is you know about it but can't explain it to me.

Pranav: Dad , Lamborghini has a Rear engine and the fastest BMW has a front engine. Do you why it is that way ?
Dad: Hmm Don't know
Pranav: Can i tell you ?
Dad: Yes
Pranav: Engine sends power to back wheels. The back wheels only push the car. So if the the engine is close to the wheel it can go faster. But i don't know how a BMW can also go fast ?
Dad: I don't know , i will check with my friend and let you know. <sigh> < wish i had a little more geek in me to respond to that>

Pranav: what is the difference between a musk melon and watermelon
San Ran: Musk melon is flourescent , watermelon is green . if u cut a musk melon it will be white inside and watermelon will be red inside.
Pranav: you can just say watermelon in Oval and musk melon is round.

Dad: Only when you read a lot of books and grow older you get to know many words. These words are actually called Slang
